Without meaning to dampen the fantastic enthusiasm shown by everyone, perhaps a better way of being around when the Sailing Ship project is going on would be to organise yourselves a boat out of Weymouth for the same week and do some 30m type diving as a team, so that those who have got Fundies can dive with those who haven't, and that hard-won week of annual leave will be spent diving and having fun and learning rather than practicing for GUE Tea Brewing Diver Level 2. You'll be around to share the general ambience and excitement and beer, and can rotate in to help the Ship project and do net/Lloyds research, but won't be bored senseless by the second day.

It looks like there'll be plenty of Tech1/2 type divers to provide rotating diving support for each other so I'd either book a boat or be prepared to spend a week wandering round the fascinating tourist sites of Weymouth by day and feeling ultra jealous that you didn't get to dive at all by night.

Sorry if I have stepped on anyone's toes, it's just a thought,

Cheers
Jen

grahame knott will become famous soon enough

wey chieftain becomes Divetime

Hi All
Thought I had better jump in here before confusion reigns I will let Phill explain in a later post. Wey Chieftain 3 has been sold to Paul Pike of Divetime fame and will be Divetime from the 1st of Feb 2007. Wey Chieftain 4 will be a new Venom built by ourselves have a look at Weymouth Offshore Company for a sneak preview into my other life. On November the 1st I purchased the Ex Fleet tender Lamlash and we have exciting plans for her, more news on the website soon but if you can't wait take a look at the news on Deepimage's homepage at shipwrecks, shipwreck exploration, deep wrecks I need to talk to Andy but I was going to suggest that we used the Fleet tender for the week on the sailing ship, you don't have to use her liveaboard facilities but those that want to can, she will make a great base for the week.
Cheers Grahame
Skipper Wey Chieftain and Lamlash

Thanks Grahame for that.

The new boat is here btw, Lamlash charter vessel
for those who'd like a peek.

So the upshot is that the "Support Team" have the old Wey Chieftain 3 for the week. The yellow Cat if you don't know it.

Those who will be "off rotation" will have a cracking boat to dive from for the week and from speaking to Grahame today there may well be some interesting things for us to do in the shallower range

As Jen suggested this gives the support crew a chance to share in the "glory dives" for a while but also a way to make full use of hard earned leave.

Lets hope that this works out well all round.

Cheers

Ditto! A good week with lots of fun people and lots to explore and discover be it deeper or shallower sounds fantastic. August nitrox diving round Weymouth has done me very well indeed in the past :-) Really looking forward to getting involved with the project in whatever ways possible; this is one of the main reasons why I wanted to learn to dive in the first place!

Prob best to leave it all in one then AK can see what deck bitches he has available to call on. I'm making the assumption here that Andy will be calling the shots of course.
