Looks pretty sexy. Whereabouts is the power level selector control?

Could you give some physical dimensions. Especially in handheld config?

The power setting will be made by the rotary switch. The switch has 3 positions: OFF - 35% - 100%

The weight of the handheld configuration with the body of our PHOTON is 0,7 kg, the length is 225mm, the head diameter is 65mm.

The same idea as Metalsub use a rotary magnet not very DIR im afraid.
How is the magnet and the swivel switch held in place on the switch runner ?.

This idea is old , but its always the question of quality.
Its impossible to loose the switch, because the switch goes inside a groove and the tension of the clip is too strong for loosing.

BTW, not only at DIR exist manufacturer who knows what they do.

As this is in the 'Specialist DIR kit' subforum - will this light be tested (or available for test) by an established DIR team - a team who are unconnected to your business?

It would be good to read a completely unbiased equipment report on this torch from a DIR perspective..

I'm not arguing with you but are Gavin scooters not switched on by a magnet on the end of a bit of fishing line? if so then surely a rotary magnet should be acceptable.

Michael your torches look well thought out and a quality product, you usually post on here with the new innovations in light technology from MB-Sub which is great.

But looking at the LED cable light model you have on display here it has a open ended rotary bezel switch which will allow sand and sediment deposits to corrode the magnet in the switch if the magnet is exposed ? which will within time move the magnet further away from the internal contacts leading to possible light failures.

The ethos of DIR is to keep it as simple as possible i.e a on/off fixed wire toggle switch.

I am agree your point of view, if its conducive for security. But its a question of security too, that you can adjust the light power and the light beam.
The magnet is completly closed from silikon and cannot corrode.
I know the problems, but i told you that good solutions needs brain.
I am shure that we send this LED-system for testing next year to GB.

Michael

Thank you Michael for making it clear about the sealed magnet, I look forward to reading the test data after its been tested by an unbiased team of tech divers here in the U.K.

Thanks,
