Gavin Scooters - Adjustable Trim Weights?

Hi,

does anyone have any images of how to fit moveable/adjustable weights for trimming a Gavin? If not an explanation will probably surfice. I think I have heard of people using fishing weights or the removable weights from ankle weights threaded onto one of the long battery pack bolts.

What do you do, if you use another method?

Thanks in advance.

Mark.

I have an old ankle weight and lozenges ducted tape to the top of the battery pack. That's got it pretty nicely weighted for fresh. Bob checked it for me last weekend and reckoned it was pretty cool. It does seem to vary though dependent on the scooter and batteries. John Kendall's scooter was amazingly prop heavy and I think he ended up pulling all the weight out.

If you've got any ankle weight lozenges and/or old ankle weight bring it along on sunday. Bob or AK would have a better idea but I'm sure we'll get something workable.

BTW - mine looks like this.

Cheers
Al

Bob - did you add the blocks that keep the battery in place on the bulkheads?

Cheers
Al

Not on that pack, that's how the bulkhead came. They are glued on and regularly fall off! (easily fixed with a couple of brass woodscrews).

I've added them to my other pack - to keep the battery in place without having to crank down the nuts on the rods too tight.

Cheers Al,

my scooter's previous owner only used a single taped on soft weight bag (1KG I think) for salt water diving. I'm not sure how this will work in fresh water. We'll have a play on Sunday.

Regards,

Mark.
