![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Question about assembling gavin battery pack OK I may be missing one battery but I've been trying to work out how the wiring fits together: ![]() Now the round connectors go on the battery and the large connectors plug into the scooter. But what is the copper bar for? What is the connector in the bubble pack for? And finally what keeps the battery in the housing - is it just a case of tightening the bolts? ![]() Apologies for the numpty questions! Cheers Al |

| GUE Instructor/DIRX Moderator | At a guess the copper bar is to connect the positive of one battery to the negative of the other (the motor is 24v). You then connect the leads to the other set of positive and negative terminals. The connector in the pack is to go on the end of the charger. HTH J |

| Pinoy ako pinoy | Get yourself some masking tape and tape the batteries together, terminal to terminal. Then cover all the terminals except the negative that will go near the fat bulkhead. Now put the batteries into the bulkheads but only fasten it with 3 bolts leaving the one at the top out (bulkheads should have holes up and the terminals should now be free to work on). Thread the black motor lead through the back of the fat bulk head, now connect the black motor lead and the black charging lead to the and negative you left free. Now do the same with the reds to the positive. Now connect the positive and negative at the front of the pack with the copper rod and thread the charging terminal through the hole. Put in the last bolt to hold the bulkheads together. Make any sense Graham |

Cheers Al Notice the wooden block that are around the battery to hold it in place. When I got my scooter from George they were already installed. You may want to get familiar with this site.

![]() ![]() | You need something to keep the pack in place... A couple of weeks ago I was towing my short as a backup, and after a while noticed that it didn't comfortably ride on top of my legs anymore; the balance was way off... (trigger handle hanging at 5 o' clock) The batteries just had shifted sideways. I installed some small treaded bars (M3) along the top of the batteries to keep them in place, but the lower part is still just shifting sideways... Guess I have to install 2 more at the bottom... For the guys who have a battery pack like pictured on the gavin scooter web site with the little blocks on the bulkheads; What material are they made of? PVC? And how are they mounted? screwed or just glued? Davy |

I have all combos on my packs - glued, screwed and without :D What material are they made of? PVC? And how are they mounted? screwed or just glued? Davy Peter |

You can easily add some screws to stop this. What material are they made of? PVC? And how are they mounted? screwed or just glued? Bob |

| New Member | Actually would be nice to have a gavins source´s page. A lot of info have been discussed in gavinscooter list, but it would be nice to have a one place for info (specially for people outside US, since most the info G3 pages are for US resources) I my self had a great help from John Grogan when I was ordering spares to Finland gavins users. He suggested the following spare blades - spare relays - spare steel wire and crimps for the trigger spare reed switches Also this issue with batteries and chargers, which model to source in EU? and so on? what you think should we have this gavin resources page? Comments? Regards and have a blast at new year Teppo |
