| Gadevang Underwater Explorers | I used to use Gap it is easy to use and free. Now I am using the GUE program, it comes with the decoplanner - and it is from GUE ![]() Best Regards Anders Knudsen

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi again, The thing about standard mixes is that they make mixing a breez. Basically any standard mix is Helium wiht a nitrox 32 top off. So you only need to know one figure and the rest is easy. To make nitrox 32 you need to put 14% pure O2 and top of with air. So if you want to make 200 Bar of Nitrox 32 you put 28 Bar of O2 and top with air. If you want to make 100 Bar of nitrox 32 you have to put 14 bar of O2 and top with air. Now you know it all. To make 200 bar of trimix 21/35, you need 70 bar of He cause that is 35%. Now you need 130 bar of Nitrox 32. if u have it premixed ....great if not it just means that you need to put 18.5 bars of O2 and the rest is air. For 15/55 it is the same 110 bars of He and 90 bar of nitrox 32. That is 12.5 bar of O2..... Standardized mixes kick ass |

| Padawan learner | but if you work purely by blending recipes then you have to empty the cylinders before filling them and losing any gas you have left from a previous dive.

No you don't. The benifits of standard mixes don't change becuase of residuals (this it was makes them so useful) - you can even change the standard mix and it works.remainder 70b of 21/35 you want 210 of 15/55. remainder helium = .35*70=24.5b required helium =.55*210=115.5 balance helium = 115.5-24.5=91 mixing add 91b helium goes to 161b balance is 49b either with 32% or 14% 02 (6.86b) and air. In reality you would add 90b He and 7b O2 We have used a set of standard mixes with 28% top off in the past - still owrks Graham |
