DIR hat...
computers are the work of satan, do not use one or you will be struck by lightning, however the Tec has an alarm clock to wake you up for a dive

Reccy Hat...
Aladin Tec is a cracking computer. nice big Uwatec digits and shows everything without the tv sized screen... push-buttons not wet contacts... USER CHANGEABLE BATTERY and you can set custom MODs for nitrox mixes

I ordered 10 of them the other day cos Devon Divers had them for £172 and I thought I could get at least 220 on e-bay as they sell like hot-cakes at RRP £299 and the best discount on the web is £298 but it turns out the price was an error :-(

Hiya Kamyk,
I am using the aladin tec in gauge mode and really like it as the timer is in seconds wich is great for stops u know when to get ready to move up. The software is useful as well to check out your profile.

Given it is in the same price range as a suunto vyper, the aladin tec gives you more bang for the buck.

the timer in gauge mode is very handy, and the display easy to read.

yes 120m.
little drawback is that the main divetimer *only* displays up to 199 mins and then starts over.
So it sort of has the same problem I have with the dig. depthgauge from uwatec, but it's a step in the right direction...
luckely the stopwatch keeps on going for 24hours...
doesn't make sense really to have the stopwatch go 24h and limit the main timer to 199', but anyway
It's a really nice gauge.

As far as the computer algorithm????
I only played a little bit with the on screen dive planner since I was curious about the claimed "micro bubble algorithm", but decided it was way to conservative to my liking to be useful.

On a nitrox dive Brian and I went over into deco, no deco gas,.

Brian doing Deco the DIR way, me watching the TEC, as Brian thumbed it as being done, my display gave me the all clear as well.

Not alot of help granted!

Martin.
