![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | London to High Springs coffee help... As many of you might have heard, I'm taking a break from Halcyon and GUE while I open a new espresso bar in Gainesville. (shameless plug: if you are diving in the area and want serious espresso or tea, check us out-- Volta Coffee, Tea & Chocolate ) Anyway, there's a new roaster in London (Square Mile, at 273 Poyser Street), and I'd love to find a way to get my hands on some of their espresso. If anyone is traveling from London to High Springs in the next few months, I'd figure out any way necessary to wire you the cash to pick up a kilogram or two; I'd also promise to keep you hypercaffinated while you are here in the area diving. Best, Anthony |

If you can wait until then, I'd be happy to bring some over provided I can legally bring it into the country (I'll have to look into that). Do you mean this stuff: Square Mile Coffee Roasters - WBC Espresso Joe |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I just tried calling them to see whether you could buy from the premises (it would be pretty easy for me to call in, but it's not clear from the website whether this is possible or it's only web orders for now), however, the number isn't recognised... Thanks-- it is a brand new company and I'm guessing that they might have jumped the gun in publishing their phone number. I'll send them an email to make sure that they have a place for local pick-up. And yes, it is the Square Mile WBC blend that I'm chasing down.David |

OK, some googling would suggest that roasted coffee beans are on the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service's list of approved products to bring into the US, so this should be do-able no matter how new my shoes are...Don't wear brand new shoes. I can't wait for the end of this tail when Joe recounts his story of being taken aside by the security personnel, put in a back room, and probed and questioned for hours on end. Oh the yuck yucks we'll have then Don't wear brand new shoes. Thats how they always get caught on that customs and excise programme ![]() Chris |
