| "Like a diver... only shorter" | Had the diving medical today - doc ran through the whole incident and treatments and where i can go from here. He was surprised i wanted to dive again, as "many people chose not to dive again after a bend". It never crossed my mind not to dive in the future. He explained that if i do get bent again then i stand a good chance of permanent disability as i have killed off bits of brain and it has simply rewired itself around the duff parts - you can only get away with that a precious few times. And in response to if i can dive before the PFO test - "absolutley not". ![]() So. Im off to learn freediving with a friend Should keep me busy.

Whilst it's apparently true you are more susceptible to a bend after suffering one this sounds like scaremongering to me As you know I suffered a bend over 200 dives ago and it didn't stop me after I sought proper medical advice. Cheers, Fraser.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Richard Pyle,,, Mark Elleyat,, even mr GI3 and JJ have been bent It seems a strange reaction to your situation. Have you considered contacting a diving specilist like someone at Dan for advice? If you have a PFO you have always had it. I asume you wernt bent after every dive? I wouldent let your head drop untill you have spoken to someone with indepth knowladge of you'r situation and diving related injuries. ATB Mark Chase |
