AJ, Glad to hear/see you post. Keep your wits about you and stay safe. Thanks for being there for the rest of us. If you need anything, PM me and I'll send out a care package of stuff. Can't send you a cave to dive in, but seriously anything you need that can be sent via US mail.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I was working in Kuwait a few years back and did a few dives in the sea. Very sandy, but we found billions [1] of cuttlefish so it was a very nice dive. Janos [1] - Approximately

![]() | I made it to Abu Ghraib after being pingponged around Kuwait and Iraq. The land here is very lush and green. Not what I expected. A bunch of kids waived at me and my guys on the way. Things like that make you feel like you're making a difference. They all seem so happy, even though some of the places they live in are so run down, and they have nothing at all. It makes one appreciate the simple things. |

| Moderator | That is my experience of travelling around with the RAF. You may be travelling through a rundown town with no real infrastructure, but the kids are immaculately dressed waiting to go to school with a smile of their faces. Yes, it does make you realise how lucky you are sometimes. My experience of Kuwait has been split; 8 yrs ago staying in a nice hotel ferrying stuff around in a C-130 from Cyrups to Dhahran, 3 yrs ago sitting in a tent in Kuwait International wearing a gas mask at 3 o'clock in the morning having been woken up by the air raid sirens and then singing happy birthday to one of the crew who I was getting airborne with that night to fly a trip into Iraq. Good luck out there.
