![]() | New to the forum and diving. I live near lake Michigan and started diving in 2009. I need to do my night dive and then I will finish my PADI AOW. I also am about to take a Nitrox course (x-mas present from my sister) and a drysuit course free with the purchase of my drysuit. I would like to increase my skills: bouyancy, weighting, streamlining, kicks, etc. I Want to dive more at least once a week but don't belong to a dive club or have any real dive buddies of yet. I will probably take a fundies course some day but does anyone know of someone in Wisconsin or the Chicago, Ill area that is a "DIR" diver that I could dive with once in awhile and learn from? I have all my own gear but it is not Hog. |

![]() | Hi David, there are several divers in the Chicago/Milwaukee region who are GUE trained and dive DIR, including myself. We also have some great instructors such as Duane Johnson of Precision Diving who dive and teach DIR-style diving. There are frequent workout/skills dives at Pearl and Haigh during the season, and good access to several Lake Michigan wrecks out of Milwaukee on the Len-Der and other boats. You can certainly join us. Jim Costopulos Vernon Hills, IL |
