Hi from a newbie

Hi my nick is Ajuva,

A newbie on the diving scene who is intrigued by DIR.

I will need to look into the availability of DIR courses in Scotland first.

Had to travel 105 miles to take my OW course with Deep Blue Scuba in Edinburgh and then further for the open water dives to Loch Long.

Based in Dumfries.

If anyone knows of anything north or south I would be interested to hear.

Looking forward to chatting and learning from you all.

Ajuva

Hi Ajuva,
I'm sure it's quite a way from you but there's a bunch of us in the North of England who visit St Abbs, the Farnes and Capernwray. There used to be a couple of DIR Scots, but I think they're both hiding south of the border now, trying to blend in

If there's enough interest then GUE instructors are always happy to put on a course so if you can gather another couple of people you should be all set. Failing that Capernwray is often used for fundamentals courses.

If you're not sure whether DIR is for you or what it's all about then keep an eye out for "Discover DIR" sessions. We've just run one at Capernwray, there's one running soon at Vobster and I'll be organising another one around November at Capernwray again. These sessions are for you to come along, try some gear and find out a bit more about what it's all about.

Another option is the DIRx gig at Stoney in October. There'll be more DIR folk than you can shake a stick at wandering about trying to get a Nitrox fill on a weekend

Cheers,
Neil

Ajuva,

I'm getting very close on getting a Scottish course set up. Where are you?

Rich

EDIT - Ahh Dumfries... OK.
