Smile Hi all

I just thought I'd say "Hi" as I've just registered.

My name is Steve, I live in Stafforshire, England.

I'm just getting into DIR. I'm a PADI DM. I've been diving since 2002. A couple years ago a "very good friend" of mine went all DIR, I just frowned and looked down my nose at him.

It wasn't til a couple a of weeks ago, when I went diving with a couple of DIR divers that I had to eat a very large piece of humble pie. They were such good divers, and the way they had their kit set up was just so simple, and everything had a purpose for being were it was.

I've been moaning for the last 2 years about how cluttered my kit is.

In the last two weeks I've sold most of my gear and bought all DIR compatable kit, with the help of the "very good friend" who's been giving me some excellent advice. (Thanks Gary)

I've had lots of stick about going to the Dark side but I don't care. The more I read and learn the more I know its the right thing to do.

Cheers

Steve.

Sounds like a familiar story, heard lots of people say very similar things over the past year, and twas watching a team train for tech1 that made me take a step back as well.
