![]() | Hello! Hi there, I am a PADI DM who has gained interest in the DIR philosophy as I have been moving progressively towards doubles and decompression diving. At this point, my interests for deco lie mainly in extending my bottom time on wrecks within the recreational limits. Currently I am in the midst of transitioning to doubles, getting used to the different setup and such, and then I plan to take the technical nitrox course once both myself and my instructor feel I am comfortable with the doubles setup. Home is the PNW of the USA, but during the school year I am in Baltimore, MD and until August 10th, I am in Scapa Flow Scotland! Although I am not a DIR diver at this point, as I said, I am interested in understanding more of the philosophy and components behind DIR, and the reasons for particular setups and procedure, so forgive me if I start asking questions all the time! ![]() |

| Moderator | Welcome to DIRx And the best bit about diving outside of the US is using metric dive calculations as you have already found out ![]()
