Back in the UK to do some real diving!

Dear all,
After a couple years frog kicking around the Caribbean as an Instructor I have returned to the green and pleasant land to start a PROPER job and do some diving (without overweight Americans kicking up the reef behind me....)
I have been DIS for about 2 years after getting started with NSS-CDS Caven in Mexico and have about 1100 dives logged since 2001.
Tying to get a DIR-F that I can accomodate with my work schedule. I'm Brighton based and would really like to get a good regular diving crew together, so would like to hear from anyone south coast based for weekend dives.
If anyone would be interested in doing DIR-F (possibly abroad) then definately drop me a line. James

Hi James,

Welcome. There are obviously quite a number of us based in southern England and even if not on the coast, we'll travel to it given that inland diving in the UK may be a necessity given the weather from time to time but trips to the coast are the reason most of us dive.

A good way to meet some DIR minded people might be to come to some of the Friday nitrox dives Weymouth should be in reach for you from Brighton. See http://www.direxplorers.com/dir-planned-trips-expeditions/3294-uk-nitrox-dives-30m-max-you-interested-friday-diving.html

There are also ad hoc trips advertised in the trip section as well as groups going to inland sites (eg Vobster in the South), which may not be advertised.

Slightly surprised that you're not thinking of doing DIR-F in the UK; there are three instructors in the UK (in no particular order - well OK alphabetical) - Clare Gledhill, John Kendall and Rich Walker - they're all on the board. You may as well have the fun of our conditions, viz, drysuits etc if you're going to come and dive over here - it may also help meeting other divers who you might want to go diving with later before and/or on the course.
