![]() | Just thought I'd join in the fun! I've done the lecture portion of the DIR-F class and this weekend, we will do the in water portion with Michael H. Kane and Brandon Schwartz. I'm really looking foward to it! My long term plans involve moving through the GUE Tech and Cave curriculum. I'll do the Tech 1 and Tech 2 classes first since I think they are more applicable to my diving in SoCal. But since I'm in the middle of DIR-F, I'd better concentrate on that first. I see lots of "familiar faces" around here. Christian

| GUE Instructor Site Admin | Welcome to the board. Regarding DIR - F - make sure you relax and enjoy it - looking back at my course I wish I had fretted a bit less and enjoyed it a bit more - it can be a great experience. Have a great time and TELL US HOW YOU GET ON :D

![]() | Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I'll be jumping on the boat to Catalina Island tomorrow for a weekend of Fundies. I think it's going to be a lot of fun! I'm not concerned at all with passing the class. That's not what this is about for me. I just want to learn the new skills and how to practice them until I've learned them properly. I don't see it as a race to get a "pass". Ultimately, it's only about how it allows me to improve my diving over time. I'll come back and do a report when I've recovered from the weekend. :D Christian
