![]() | Hello from Rochester MN Hey everyone. My name is Paul Schwingler and I have been DIR for one year but FINALLY got around to getting on this site. I have been diving for 5 years (I am 19 years old) and enjoy both recreational and technical diving. There's a great group of divers here in Rochester and soon we all will be cave certified I hope. Talk to you all later- Paul |

![]() | Diving here in the northlands Well, Most of our diving here in MN is done in old iron ore mining pits and in Lake Superior. The vis is usually about 25-30 feet and light disappears around 100 ft or so, making quality canister lights essential. Ice diving is popular and rather unique to our area. I extend the open invitation to all you ocean dwellers to come up to MN in January and come ice diving with us! Superoir has amazing wrecks and enviroments for both techies and recreational divers alike. Dryuits are NOT optional and quality regs are a must. Ther is a group of techies based out of Rochester where I am from that are starting to become cave certified, although certification means a trip to FL so it takes a while. Soon we all will be cavers but until then we hone our skills in the dark, icy waters of Minnesota and Wisconsin. |
