![]() | Hello from London My name is Shane. I am currently living in London UK. My wife and I have recently relocated from Vancouver British Columbia. I have been diving DIR since 2003 and am hoping to find like minded individuals in the immediate area. I am a PADI Divemaster with aprox. 1600 dives (all but 200 in the Pacific Northwest of BC & Washington State) I am looking forward to taking the DIR-F. course upon my return to North America. I have been diving since I was 12 but have a lot to learn from the DIR community. I mostly 'lurk' and learn on the lists but if anyone has any advice regarding the DIR community in London that would be great! Cheers, Shane |

| Mask? Oh yes, I thought it was cold.... | Hi Shane There are loads of DIR X members living in or around London so any time you want to go diving I am sure someone will go with you. Which side of London are you living? Wraysbury is close (by LHR) if you want an inland dip and a few of us are there on Wednesday evenings sometimes. And it's easy to get down the South Coast from here I have a space on a weekend trip to Plymouth 5/6th August if you are interested? And also you could both sign up for the DIR X Gig at Stoney Cove 18/19th November if you will still be in the UK then Marianne Last edited by MJH; June 26th, 2006 at 11:19 AM. |

![]() | diving in the UK Hi Marianne, Thanks for the reply. At the moment we're living at St. George's Wharf on the South Bank; however, at the end of the week we're moving to Canary wharf. I would really like to get some diving in while I'm here. At the moment my DUI dry suit is being repaired (faulty forearm seam). I'll be 'suitless' until I return from Vancouver in Mid August; I'm doing an extended dive trip through Queen Charlotte Strait through August- the November dives sound great. I'll be in London until August 3 and returning to London around the 25th of August. We will be living in London for the next year at least. I'd like to get as much diving in as possible this coming winter. I'm not sure how much diving goes on here in the winter but given that the conditions seem very similiar to British Columbia I'm assuming that you probably dive throughout the winter months. Please stay in touch and thanks for the reply. Cheers, Shane Last edited by ShaneCan; June 27th, 2006 at 01:06 PM. Reason: email address |

I'm a highschool teacher so I'll have to check the dates but if they work I would be interested in the whole weekend and yes, help with accomadation and transport gudleines would be appreciated. I dive LP 104 steels but they're in storage in Vancouver; are bottles available" My regs are DIN. It would be nice if you could make the whole weekend Let me know if you need any help with accomadation etc M Thanks, Shane. Last edited by ShaneCan; June 28th, 2006 at 06:56 PM. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Get your ass down to Plymouth over the winter, and dive yourself stupid!! We dive right through the winter with the majority to 30m max, but more if you want it. Look at the website for Aquanauts, for trips. The vis during the winter can be stunning (by UK standards!), min water temp is 6 degrees, Brian (dive centre owner, is DIR Tech1, and going for Tech 2 next month) Lots to see and do if diving is blown out. If you are coming down, just give me the heads up. Welcome to the UK (home of proper diving.... who needs 25m+ of vis!)
