![]() | I am as of now not yet a DIR diver but am very curious about DIR diving. I'm not a professional and have less then 150 dives under my belt. I have a PADI OW & AOW certification, but I still want to further my training and after watching those guys on the 5ThD-X videos on youtube I wanted to dive the same way those guys do. I'm planning to take a GUE Primer course and my GUE Fundamentals next year and am hoping to be DIR certified REC diver soon. Regard, Sean |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Congrats on your newfound interest. As I'm sure you know by now, there is a lot of GUE/DIR activity in the Philippines and a wealth of experience among the instructors and instructor candidates there. And if you ever have an interest in diving Japan, give me a holler. |

![]() | Hi Sean, Yeah, and it's also a fun town!don't know where you are in the PI but if you are interested in DIR you could do worse than contact these guys: http://www.asiadivers.com/techasia/ Cheers, John ![]() Edit: For what it's worth, I originally learned DIR from the internet, got my gear sorted, started diving doubles and got away from fundies with a Rec pass with zero personal mentoring beforehand. It can be done if you spend enough time with it, but you should have a lot easier time than that after meeting some DIR people there.
