Hello from WNC

Hello,

Been diving for a while, but not with a lot of frequency. I live in the mountains of Western NC. Read the DIR book over and over and switched out my gear in 2002. After recovering from the massive outlay in funds, I took a drysuit class and was looking forward to DIR-F, but along came my first child a year ago and my priorities changed. Plan on making DIR-F happen this year. I sure need it! Looking forward to being a better diver and raising my son in a proper DIR manner!

Owen;
I'm glad to see you have your priorities straight. When you get to DIR it will ensure you are around for a long time to see that child grow up.
I'll be in So. NC in late June diving wrecks for the first time. Carolina Beach I think.
Take care of that child;
Bill

Welcome Owen!

Just FYI, I am currently in Raleigh, NC until May...we have a solid group of DIR divers in the area who often get together for dives in the local quarries just to play around, run drills, blow bubbles, etc. You are always welcome to come out and meet with us if ever interested! Just send a PM my way and I can give you contact info for several of us.

My little sister lives in Charlotte, so we sometimes head towards WNC so she can join us for a dive, as well.

Good job setting your priorities straight, btw :-) Hope the baby is happy and healthy!

Best,
Dawn

RE: Intro

Bill, I hope you will post about your wreck dives. That is high on my list of things to do on the NC coast.

Dawn, Thanks for the invite! I sometimes make may way to Charlotte as I have a brother that lives there. You guys should consider a trip to Jocasse. There is an interesting easy dive there called the "Junk".
