DIR Explorers - the next step in DIR Diving!

Welcome back Unregistered

DIR diving is a fast growing approach to diving. Be it technical or recreational, wreck, cave or reef, DIR diving can be relevant to the diving that you do. Jump in on our DIR forums, find out more about who we are, what we do, and how we do it.

DIRX is a DIR diving forum run by DIR divers for both DIR divers and those who are interested in learning more about our approach to diving. There is a lot of information around on the internet about DIR, we hope to bring it together here, at DIRX, into one resource which each of us can use.

So look around, tell us who you are, what you would like to see from DIRX, ask some questions, post reports of diving that you have done, or would like to do.

Safe Diving all from Graham Blackmore, Brian Allen and all of us in the DIRX Team.

Hi Everyone,

In November I'm going to do a crossover in to the Cave Divers Association of Australia so I can become a member and get access to all the sites around Mt Gambier in South Australia. One of the skills in the cross over is something new to me; equipment removal & replacement u/water (cylinders/harness only including stages).

How I am going to be able to do this beats me! I don't wear a weight belt so I'm sure I'll rocket to the surface in my drysuit, and... [Read More]

Hey everyone! Have been lurking here for quite some time and i suppose it's finally time for an introduction.
I started as a Cmas diver 12 years ago but only diving regularly since 3 years, I then discovered Gue and found that I really like this apporoach to diving! Finally took fundies last november where I managed to get a rec pass, now I'm looking for like minded divers to, well, dive! and work towards a tech upgrade (and wherever that may lead...)

Hi all,

First, thanks a lot for this very welcoming scuba diving forum!

Before my introduction I took the liberty of opening a thread looking for a couple of buddies to join a fundies course in Malta around the 15th of November, so if anyone is interested, let me know! :D

Now, my name is Jose, I am a Portuguese guy living in Bracknell, but with a lot of travelling in my agenda! So, I get to dive all around! ... [Read More]

» Scappa Flow in Aug 2015

Sep 10, 2014 - 2:41 PM - by vadiver
Some of my buddies invited me to Scappa Flow next year and I was wondering if there is a GUE/DIR dive shop in the area? I'd like to chat with them about logistics, conditions, the availability of tanks, etc... Any info would be greatly appreciated.

» Li-ion or LiPo battery in Halcyon HDV-R14 DPV?

Sep 08, 2014 - 7:53 PM - by henrik242

Would it be possible to replace the NiMH cells in a HDV-R14 with a Li-ion or LiPo battery pack? I'm considering asking a local battery business make one for me, but is it advisable at all? Is the existing water seal good enough protection for the batteries?

Does anyone know of an alternative to the Welch Allyn M50N091 bulb, for use in 50w HID Video Lights?
