DIR Explorers - the next step in DIR Diving!

Welcome back Unregistered

DIR diving is a fast growing approach to diving. Be it technical or recreational, wreck, cave or reef, DIR diving can be relevant to the diving that you do. Jump in on our DIR forums, find out more about who we are, what we do, and how we do it.

DIRX is a DIR diving forum run by DIR divers for both DIR divers and those who are interested in learning more about our approach to diving. There is a lot of information around on the internet about DIR, we hope to bring it together here, at DIRX, into one resource which each of us can use.

So look around, tell us who you are, what you would like to see from DIRX, ask some questions, post reports of diving that you have done, or would like to do.

Safe Diving all from Graham Blackmore, Brian Allen and all of us in the DIRX Team.

» Stage markings

Jul 14, 2015 - 12:41 PM - by Cwadey

I have got myself an Ali 80, for the time being it will be used as a bottom stage with 32% in, in a few months or the start of next year I want to do tech 1. I know you should have stages permanently marked with MOD however for the time being I just can't afford 2-3 stages. If it was just the initial outlay it would be fine but the continual testing every 15 months is just unrealistic while I am a full time student.

So how should I mark up this... [Read More]

» Long Deco's - How do you pass the time?

Jun 24, 2015 - 8:47 PM - by Balanced Diver
Aloha everyone,

My buddy and I routinely do 3 hour closed circuit dives, usually we are pretty well entertained scootering along during deco. On Saturday we did our first 4 hour dive and because our scooters have a burn time of about 2.5 hours, we had to sit around for quite awhile.

We were in a 20' rubble patch so I found myself stacking flat-ish rocks, taking awkward selfies with my camera/buddies, drinking water through my hydration pack, slurping on squeezable... [Read More]

» Tech1 dives in Malta

May 22, 2015 - 12:39 PM - by Leonidas
Hey guys!

Just wanted to say that if there is anyone interested in doing a Tech1 dive in Malta and is looking for a teammate, please feel free to contact me. I have recently completed the T1 in Croatia with K. Egorov and it would be great if I could dive the Maltese wrecks with some fellow GUE divers.

» Looking for teammates for C1 dives in Mexico

Apr 12, 2015 - 5:58 AM - by zulu

I will be in Mexico from May 11t to 19th, and I am looking to connect with divers wanting to do C1 dives.

I graduated in 2013 and now looking to build some experience. Safety is my top priority, but otherwise I am rather chilled out.

Please let me know if you are interested.

» GUE/UTD in Fl. keys?

Apr 09, 2015 - 4:36 PM - by barnie

In july/august I will be visiting US with my family. On august 1st I will be visiting Fl. keys (Key Largo) and have the day off for diving. I wonder of there are any GUE/UTD divers up for some diving. I'm UTD Tech 1 certified, but will need to rent equipment.

Best regards
