DIR Explorers - the next step in DIR Diving!

Welcome back Unregistered

DIR diving is a fast growing approach to diving. Be it technical or recreational, wreck, cave or reef, DIR diving can be relevant to the diving that you do. Jump in on our DIR forums, find out more about who we are, what we do, and how we do it.

DIRX is a DIR diving forum run by DIR divers for both DIR divers and those who are interested in learning more about our approach to diving. There is a lot of information around on the internet about DIR, we hope to bring it together here, at DIRX, into one resource which each of us can use.

So look around, tell us who you are, what you would like to see from DIRX, ask some questions, post reports of diving that you have done, or would like to do.

Safe Diving all from Graham Blackmore, Brian Allen and all of us in the DIRX Team.

» Contacts needed to dive Molnar Janos in Budapest Hungary

Jul 24, 2014 - 11:03 AM - by Rubis
Hi !

I am going to Budapest the first two weeks in september and I would like to dive Molnar Janos.

Can somebody point me to who to contact to make that happen ? I am tech 1 with GUE and Full cave with NACD/NSS-CDS.
If somebody could help me locally for borrowing some gear, so that I don't have to bring the whole thing for just a couple of dives I would appreciate it as well ... [Read More]

Does anyone know of a DIR dive centre in Clearwater. We have booked a surprise trip for the kids to the house of mouse next November & have 6 nights in Clearwater so it would be rude not to try & have a bubble.

» JJ-CCR GUE-Configuration

Jul 17, 2014 - 4:08 PM - by Anders Jansson

I just wounder if someone who have knowledge or dive with the JJ-CCR GUE-config can give me a brief explanation over how it works and the difference from an ordinary CCR configuration.

I am a non-ccr diver...

Pictures could be cool also.

Thank you, dive safe.

I found their website the other day and wonder what happened to them.
Are they still active or gave up after having so many issues with the rest of the community?

Hi everyone,

Recently GUE-F certified with Steve Blanchard in Ottawa, ON with a Tech pass. I plan on doing Tech1 next year and maybe Cave1 with Zero Gravity if I get a chance in the next few years.

I've only been diving for a year but adopted the DIR mentality as soon as I got my own equipment. Been diving drysuit and doubles since November 2013 and have around 100 dives so far. I look forward to meet with more locals DIR divers and be part of Project Baseline... [Read More]

» longhose in front or behind the wing?

Jun 04, 2014 - 8:37 PM - by temple.bar
I usually dive with a H Explorer and mk17 regs; i think that the optimal routing (in consideraton of the non-optimal routing allowed by mk17) is:
- top of the wing under the regs: as a result the longhose run in front of the wing (between the wing and the diver), under te canister and so on..
OK, I'm happy with my gear and this routing (adviced me by my fund instructor) ...

...but last dive i used a pair of mk 25 and the owner told me that the proper way to Mount this... [Read More]
