DIR Explorers - the next step in DIR Diving!

Welcome back Unregistered

DIR diving is a fast growing approach to diving. Be it technical or recreational, wreck, cave or reef, DIR diving can be relevant to the diving that you do. Jump in on our DIR forums, find out more about who we are, what we do, and how we do it.

DIRX is a DIR diving forum run by DIR divers for both DIR divers and those who are interested in learning more about our approach to diving. There is a lot of information around on the internet about DIR, we hope to bring it together here, at DIRX, into one resource which each of us can use.

So look around, tell us who you are, what you would like to see from DIRX, ask some questions, post reports of diving that you have done, or would like to do.

Safe Diving all from Graham Blackmore, Brian Allen and all of us in the DIRX Team.

» Musings on GUE / Technical Diver Lifts...

Mar 09, 2014 - 7:52 PM - by sailorbuoy
So we were out in Plymouth Sound today on the second annual sea safety and rescue weekend and I began musing about lifting unconscious divers... it's a drill we all find difficult and, sadly, one we rarely practice. Over the past few years I have incorporated lifts into my training/skills dives and try to persuade my buddies to do the same.

In this post, I do not have any delusions of instructor ability - if you want to learn the basic skill then you need to do the course... if... [Read More]

you might have heard about Subsurface, the open source dive log program for Windows, Mac and Linux. This year, it is chosen as one of the projects for the Google Summer of Code and is looking for students that are interested to help to improve it further. Of course being a diver would help a lot.
