| New Member | does anyone drink underwater? no, I don't mean beer! (although I think I've seen some pics of divers w/ beer strapped to their helmets... might've been a joke) I remember this old product called SCUDA that worked kinda like a camelback with the feeding straw connected to your reg mouthpiece. I was wondering if anyone who does 2+ hour dives carries water or something during the dive? I don't know what the DIR/GUE stand is on this, but I'm just curious since the thought of doing a 10+ hour cave dive sounds pretty tiring and going that long without drinking may not be healthy.

![]() | Some divers I know like to stock Ribena and carry one for each dive. I heard it tastes nice especially when you dive in sea. Ribena Light Blackcurrant Drink with Lemon (Singapore) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | When I lived in the tropics, I used to rig a camelbak (small 1L size) onto my O2 cylinder for divs longer than 90 mins.. I rigged it with tape rather than any system - and it was on the outside of the O2 cylinder, so it wasn't trapped between the bottles. I havn't needed it much though, so I stopped doing it. I guess for longer dives it would be necessary again. Correct me if I'm wrong, but rebreather gas is moist due to the scrubber reactions. I think it would be less drying on a long dive.

| New Member | Another question. Has anyone ever eaten underwater? I've eaten an apple underwater - chewing was the hard part. I recommend the gel packs if you need nutrition. I use those all the time when biking.I tried a Mars bar once but it tasted weird after a few mins plus chocolate hurts my teeth. A
