Spareparts06 is on a distinguished road

GUE stance

What is GUE position on their diver takinga course in, and diving Sidemount or CCR. I know their curiculem does not support either but is it allowed?

They are not scuba police. If you want to take other courses or dive non-DIR gear go for it.

Please do...indeed, in some cultures, you would be expected to do so, the right being reserved for eating and greeting. Perhaps GUE should standardise on this procedure in the interest of promoting cross-cultural harmony...

Certainly not...!

How are you gonna wipe your ar$e with your left hand? Protocol dictates that the light should always be in the left hand....

You could end up with a very messy light head...!!

Bob

This is clearly not helping the OP .... he wanted to know the GUE stance on the matter not which hand to use. Everyone knows you should hold the light in a temporary grip in the right hand where cultural protocol requires.

Can you describe the stance though .... sitting , crouching or standing?

It is allowed so long as you can easily deploy backup loo roll (in case of primary andrex failure) and park the 'Hello' magazine you were reading with your right hand

Surely 'Hello' is the backup loo roll...?

You're not going to tell me it's actually useful for anything else, are you?

Then again...it might be too shiny to be usefully absorbant...

There is a DIR sidemount setup invented by George Irvine a few years ago which was posted on Techdiver. It often cheers me up to think about it when I'm sat at the bottom of Rowten Pot :D

If you need to dive sidemount then go and learn it from people who actually know how to dive sidemount.

I would have thought the GUE position would have been to use a bidet combined with a vegetarian diet and frequent colonic irrigation.
