C-card renewal?

hi,

I was sitting here wondering if i should renew my cave 1 card, i dive mainly in France but i plan to go to florida and mexico sometime in the future. Does it pose a problem to use an expired card? Do you renew yours and why?

Cheers
Jonas

Hi

I renewed my cave 1 this time last year, when I was in Florida, I just called into the GUE shop and handed over my old card and proof of 25 dives (I think!) since cave 1 and my new one was issued then & there. Also when I e-mailed them before they were quote happy to do it via the post too.

I wanted to renew mine as I intended to do more cave dives and didn't want any issues of not being able to cave dive as my card wasn't valid.

You could go on the GUE website and contact them to ask what you need to do and they are very helpful.

Hope this helps

Don't think it would be a problem in Mexico but it would be in Florida at some sites. Mine was checked carefully at Ginnie and Manatee.

Hi,

Ok I could imagine that those places in florida would check expiration dates, but apparantly it's not a problem getting a new card quick so that's great! I don't think i would have the patience releying on GUE sending me a new card, my tech 1 has been a year under way so far.

Cheers
Jonas
