![]() | Hello every one I´m new in this forum, new with DIR-configuration. Still looking forward to do DIR-F, hopefully early in the new year. I have a questíon regarding the primary light. How can I attach it to the webbing, so it don´t glide off if/ when I take of my wing in the water? John |

| Sorry for being a dick | slide on an additional buckle to hold the canister in place.

| Moderator and aka Mavis | Welcome to DIRx John. I don't know if you have found it yet, but there is a library here (http://www.direxplorers.com/dir-diving-library/) and within it is a section on kit configuration and there are plenty of articles dealing with your question. The quick answer though is to use another belt buckle tight against the canister and then it won't fall off. Hope that helps.

Would you intentionally place it behind the long hose when deploying or is that an accident? It would not seem sensible to me to have it there but perhaps I'm missing something obvious, like is it done that way to ease deployment of the long hose for an OOA situation? |

It was intentionally placed there. 2 different schools of thought on that:Would you intentionally place it behind the long hose when deploying or is that an accident? It would not seem sensible to me to have it there but perhaps I'm missing something obvious, like is it done that way to ease deployment of the long hose for an OOA situation? 1- light cord over the long hose.. you don't have to worry about possibly trapping the long hose when you clip off, but you do have to untangle the light cord from the long hose if you donate (not a big deal) 2- Light cord under the long hose.. you can donate very cleanly, without having to untangle, but you do have to pass it back under the long hose to clip it off your you could risk trapping the long hose when you do. |

Hi Mark,Would you intentionally place it behind the long hose when deploying or is that an accident? It used to be the way it was done. Theoretically it made deployment easier. However it did make it possible for you to trap the long hose when stowing the light. It's now changed so you keep the light cord free. This was changed about a year ago so the picture must be older than that. Cheers Al |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks guys, glad to hear both sides of the debate as I was struggling to see a clear winner. It felt less 'right' to have the umbilical behind the long hose so happy to have reached the current position from first principles, some of this stuff must be sinking in ![]() |
