There isn't a cross-over at all, so you'll need to take fundies (DIR-F) and then move on to tech1. |

![]() | this was taken from the GUE website could you explain: does this mean i wouldn't have to do the fundies? and just go with the previous experience The Technical Diver Level 1 (Tech 1) course is structured to prepare divers for the rigors of technical diving and to familiarize them with the use of different breathing and decompression mixtures. Tech 1 training focuses on expanding the fundamental skills learned in the DIR Fundamentals course (or elsewhere), and is designed to cultivate, integrate, and expand the essential skills required for safe technical diving. Fundies is more than just skills in the water, although that is a major part, there is a lot of GUE/DIR ethos covered which is quite a different mindset to most of the other agencies. HTH

After 150 dives I was still pretty nervous about deep diving. That's an unusual ratio! Good luck with your course. Matt |

| Chillin' with the ninjas | Yup, as the others have said Fundies then Tech1, it doesn't matter how deep you are currently certed to or how many dives you have done. Actually it could be argued that the fewer dives you have done the easier you may find it (less to "unlearn"). |
