Question Do they mean us???

Found this whilst idling perusing Dive magazine which arrived today : if we were sensitive, we could find it quite worrying.

Mind you, the article on launching a DSMB raised a smile

magazine

I'm a member of Bsac .....So i'm not agency bashing...No the article IMHO was aimed Generally rather than at any style/agency

There was a dig in another Article though ....in the same addition But who really cares!!!!!

Yes "The Deploy an DSMB" was great!!!!!!! Do you factor in the Gas Calcs a set time you scrabble about whilst trying to find a suitable bit of wreckage to tie off the reel too...Oh and some divers attach two reels incase one doesn't work

BTW IMHO its a very poor magazine

Well it does show the potential dangers of diving in threes. I genuinely believe that it can be dangerous unless properly trained in team procedures and would not recommend it unless properly trained.

It's not something that anyone who has been trained properly to dive in threes should take offence at.

3sssss

No offence in the team of 3s... They have a valid point ...If Your not trained , or the mindset ..3s could cause problems !!!not doubting that

I particularly like the fact that on the first page, given that it clearly refers to starting with separate reel and buoy, and despite otherwise incredibly tedious step by step instructions, at no point does it actually tell you to attach the buoy to the reel before sending it up...

Genius! :D

7 deadly sins

It was the worshipping false idols (see "Diving's 7 deadly sins") that made me smile. Mr Newman is obviously not a fan!

sins

No He isn't...but then i'm not a fan of some of the old fashioned ways of BSAC and the dickheads that turn up at dive sites /airports with all their qualification badges sewn on their fleeces....Every agency has them

(just off to buy a reel, to attach to my spool, incase it gets tangled while sending up the blob - apparently, it will be a new skill ((basic 6 anyone?))
