Calling the Portuguese

I've been offered a free flight to Faro from 19th - 26th January, including the use of a small car, but without accommodation. Having never been to the Algarve, I was after some recommendations of places to snorkel / dive (DIR maybe too much to hope for) / eat / sleep and details on water temperature. I need to decide if I want the flight by the end of today or early tomorrow, so quick replies appreciated!

Jen,

You need to get hold of Chris Guimaraens on YD, he lives out there (putting it mildly, he owns the best Port vineyard actually).

Drop him a PM he's always on.

Hi Jen,

although I live in Spain, I often dive with my friends over the border (it´s only 30 miles away :-) Send me a PM and I will put you in contact with the guys over in Lisbon and Faro who will gladly take you DIR diving there. In fact they do have an outing planned for the weekend of 28th/29th in the Oporto area (it´s a bit further North).
