| New Member | why cant my buddy stay away here is a question for the great minds out there. How many off us have to keep nudging our buddys away from us on a deco stop. Its like there is magnets attached to eachone off us. Has anyone got a idea why this happens? Just remember there's never a dumb question! |

Has anyone got a idea why this happens? Just remember there's never a dumb question! Assuming you're facing each other, it's usually because you're not perfectly still (but there's no need to be). This results in you swimming towards each other. Also, if you have a blob it can sometimes drag you at a slightly different speed to the water you're actually in.Just fin backwards a couple of strokes if you get too close. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If you're in current, the current can hit your buddy and push him toward you; you'd think you'd get pushed away at the same rate, but if you're in the shelter of his "current shadow", that may not happen. But the most likely explanation, if you're facing one another, is that you're both finning to remain stable, and even a tiny amount of that will push you toward one another. Ascents are one of the places where back-kicking shows its value ![]()

| GUE | Maybe he just likes you ![]() Seriously, LCF's answer is correct. The only way you can be sure it doesn't happen is if you both face into the current alongside each other. here is a question for the great minds out there.
