![]() | Wey Chieftain is dead long live the Outcast Hi All Thought I would post a few words and let everyone know what’s happening as I keep being asked what’s happened to Wey Chieftain. Wey Chieftain is no more, been there done that for more years than I care to remember. We have a new boat and a new skipper. The boat is Outcast, a brand new Venom 38, the skipper is Tom Whittall and I have been demoted to relief skipper, however when the weather is good as it’s my boat I could be tempted out!! Tom is a qualified diving instructor, free diving instructor and commercial diver. He is also obviously a qualified skipper and will be running in 2008 under my watchful eye. Only ever had one other skipper work for me before, that was Ian Taylor of Skin Deep fame so Tom has a hard act to follow. New website will be up and running in the next couple of weeks. Still plenty of space next year including weekends. We are also putting together an exciting new booking system, never been tried before and this reflects our desire to move with the times. Watch this space. Our ex fleet tender Lamlash is due back from Plymouth shortly after a major refit and paint job. She will be working commercially and taking part in several diving expeditions in 2008, full schedule will be on her new website shortly. 2007 was a year of change for us with a complete restructure of our business, think we picked the best year to do it with the weather the way it was. Normal service now resumed. Hope to see some of you in Weymouth next year. Cheers Grahame |

![]() | Great news Grahame - look forward to seeing you and the boat next year - how's the bloody back! lol Thanks Howard the bloody back is about to get a bit more follow up attention but on the whole I feel like a walking miracle. Anyone need a back surgeon? Ahmed Shair of the spinal and orthopeadic hospital is in my opinion a God. |

![]() | There are so many happy memories attached to the various incarnations of Wey Chieftain over the years .... Hi John yes it is the end of an era and quite a few have asked me why kill it off?? Wey chieftain and I were lucky to be around during really exciting times in the world of diving, managed to make quite a name for ourselves. With the problems I have had with the old back and not being sure what the future held until recentley, I always felt that I was living on past achievments. News is I am fit enough to keep going and I have some excellent support in the shape of Tom. Diving is in decline and there are new challenges ahead. With Tom's fresh approach and my wise old head! Tell you what let's do it all again. In some ways it feels like the end of an era! |
