Polar Bear Dry Suit

Just took delivery of my awaited MTM dry suit from Polar Bear,Explorer front entry,How good a fit should it be, the legs to me are to long so do the arms.
Just phoned them but no answer, will try monday.
Can someone with a mtm suit measure the inside leg measurement to the bottom of the boot.(outside) me short arse 29ins but suit measure's 35ins.
Also pictures would be nice of you in your suit.
In the arms were should the suit material end and the neoprene wrist seal start,
Thanks

Hi Taza, as it's you give me a call, and I'll talk you through the fitting

If anyone else is interested, please get in touch with me, it's best to get personal fittings when you order MTM Polar Bears Explorer drysuit and I'm a bit more mobile than going direct, and I dive and fit these suits quite alot.

My suit is the blue one, it's pretty unique, PB suits are generally only available in black. The guy in the black is Gerald Speers his suit is one I measured and had made earlier this year.

There's quite a few different options, for instance if you look closely at mine you'll see no zip cover, this allowed me to experiment with a more extreme auto dump placement, and as I don't cave dive (yet) I felt no need to have the cover.

I've been working on the boots this year, experimenting with latex socks and rock boot or wetsuit boot, membrane socks, membrane with sole (similarish to turbo sole), or classic thick neoprene boot.

It's available in either a thick HD or lightweight material, light weight is best unless you expect some serious heavy duty use.

If anyone else is interested in a suit, please give me a shout, I have a range of pattern suits and I'm happy to travel to measure people and complete pre stitching fittings. Also I have a bit more info about exactly what options are good / bad and how it applies to our sort of diving.

Colin, I think you could have done with an interim fitting, from the photos you sent it looks as if the arms and legs may need to be taken in slightly, I'd have to see the body in person to see if you could take some material out from under the arms. As per email, as your dealing with them direct, I'd recommend you take yourself and the suit back to PB and let them decide what alterations need to be made. I'm sure they'll be very happy to get it perfect for you. If you have any problems at all, please give me a call and I will do my best to help.

Best,

Brian
