![]() | Need UK info: Ordering to UK, price matching, etc. I'm about to order an Uwatec bottom timer for backup, the new kind with average depth displayed during the dive. Unfortunately they won't ship it to the US because of some restriction originating from the manufacturer so I need to order one to my sister's address in Guildford. I was looking at just the capsule on scubastore.com: New digital depth gauge capsule UWATEC Loose instruments Instruments United Kingdom Dive Scuba store .com It would be 65 GBP or about 94 euros (VAT included) + shipping (from Spain I think). Now I just need to know the following: 1. Will some huge import duty or other fee get slapped on this item if it's shipped from Spain to the UK? 2. Are there retailers in the UK who price match the way a lot of online stores do in the US? Who? (It would be simpler to buy locally). 3. Is anyone selling these capsule for even less or willing to ship directly to the US (Please PM if so). Thanks in advance. Last edited by floater; October 17th, 2007 at 03:00 PM. |

| GUE | 1. Will some huge import duty or other fee get slapped on this item if it's shipped from Spain to the UK? No. But you may have to pay for shipping from Spain to the UK. However, there are no additional taxes to pay.2. Are there retailers in the UK who price match the way a lot of online stores do in the US? Who? (It would be simpler to buy locally). Probably unlikely. By the time you factor in shipping costs and taxes (from shipping from EU to US), you're probably better off buying from your local store or finding a US price-matching store.3. Is anyone selling these capsule for even less or willing to ship directly to the US (Please PM if so). £65 is a very very good price. I'd be surprised if someone offered to sell it for less!Last edited by JGrogan; October 17th, 2007 at 03:51 PM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This sort of pricing is really quite depressing... competition is getting tougher all the time as the industry gets more and more desperate. I think there'll be quite a few people getting shaken out this year. Thankfully my Plymouth shop does ok on boats and training which carries the shop.

![]() | Thanks for the replies and PM's. By the way, in case some of you were wondering, I was looking at the capsule instead of the wrist unit because I was planning to use a DSS bungee boot with it. |

Sounds about right, this is the hard bit of the year, where sales drop off to about a third of the august amount, but the invoices keep rolling in from summer spend.
