Luxfer 7L

All,

Had a rake through the threads and t'interweb but can't find the buoyancy characteristics for the above mentioned cylinder for full, half full and empty in fresh and salt water. Could anyone possibly point me in the right direction please?

Many thanks,

Ian

Good one Al, I'd forgotten that.

It doesn't make it clear for the 7 though which "style" it is, old or new, or do you know ?

Don't know, guess old style as the sites been going ages - theoretically you can get the weight off the stamp on the cylinder and work it out from there.

It's worth bearing in mind that the valve and 1st stage both add to the weight somewhat.

Cheers
Al

I don't have the weight figure for a 'new' Luxfer 7L on me (too lazy to head out to the garage and look!), but here's some photos showing a 'new' in salt water (see file names for the pressure levels in the cylinder). There's a DS4 with ATX 50 connected to it. As you can see it's not positive, though it may give that impression when clipped to you due to the tail being so light at that pressure. Obviously the 7L Al is the yellow one

Thanks Andrew.
Pictures speak a thousand words!
For what it's worth my cylinder is a UK CE marked 7L and is stamped with 9.9kg.

Cheers,

Ian
