Spares kit

I just typed this up in response to a question on another board - but thought it would be useful to put it here.

I've just put together a set - in a great box I got from B&Q which has loads of tiny compartments - it carries on to the boat easily. It holds rather a lot.....but was a fun project to put together - and is nowhere near as big as it sounds.

Spare wing inflator unit
Drysuit inflator unit plus spare hose
Si tech drysuit dump
Belt buckle
Replacement hose for stage - tied
Swivels
Pressure gauge
Two spare mouthpieces
Spare mask strap

Schraeder tool
Set of allen keys
Multiple screwdriver heads
Socket set
Needle nose pliers
O ring pick
2 adjustable wrenches
Scalpels
Tie wraps (big and small)
Punch

Drysuit repair kit
Three tubes aquasure
Wax
Spare wrist and neck seals
Seal saver
Mask de fogging gunk

O2 clean grease
Reg blanking plugs
Spare bolt snaps
Triglides

Analysis tape
Nitrox/Trimix stickers
Waterproof pens
Wipe off pens
Labels for stages (courtesy of Divesigns - MarkEm on DIRX)

O rings - large selection
Spare rubber valve knob
Wingnuts
Washers
Backplate bolts

Trigger pins
Volt metre
Spare prop blade
Pluggable relays
Trigger repair kit
Spare Gavin O rings
Lead lozenges
Spare clutch plate

Bungy (both sizes)
Bundle of cave line
Super glue
Stage leash
Snoopy loops (large and small)
Pre tied bungy for light ballast
Lighter (windproof)

Spare bulb
Test Tube
Switch and boot
O rings for Light
Batteries (C cell)

Oh and in case it's needed to get the tool kit home - tyre inflator widget

It is an upgrade from the spares kit I have been carrying for a while - I've never actually been let down by it yet. I intend to add an IP gauge and a few other bits and bobs - mainly scooter related though.

I also carry one spare stage reg (to use or break down into components) on every boat dive - it doesn't fit in the box!

What do you take with you?

Some of the above! I also have a spare pair of fin keepers and a reg bag that has a full set of hoses in (long hose with boltsnap already attached).

I'll also have a spare pair of wet gloves and a hood with me. When I get my rolocks I'll probably replace the wet gloves with some spare blue gloves.

Personaly I try and keep it simple and just carry one complete twin set made up ready to go so if either unit breaks I can go OC

I have a special tool box at hand and it has all the useful tools and then some spare parts for regulators and also an extra first stage. When I am doing more serious diving or a longer trip I carry a full set of service kits for all the regulators I have with me and the necessary tools as well. Also a full service kit for the suit.

But to keep it simple and small is usually the best thing, but if you can then a full tool box with everything is always good to have. I always carry the smaller tool box with my stuff and with that I can do almost any quick repair or regulator service, the bigger one usually stays at home or in the car The thing is that I usually never have to use the tool kit my self but to help others
