![]() ![]() | Pool Sessions in Bracknell area Hi, I've started a new contract in Bracknell & in order to avoid staring at the B&B walls too much, I thought I'd try and find something to do in the evenings, unfortunately Wraysbury aren't open in the evenings at this time of year, so that leaves pool sessions. The outfit I spoke to this morning insist that for insurance reasons I need to do a check-out with them as they won't accept any of my qualifications at face value and want to charge me £45 for the privilege. Can any-one suggest anywhere within a reasonable distance of Bracknell that will let me in a pool mid-week without charging a fortune for a "check-out" ? Thanks Andy

| New Member | Hi, you could try HydroDive in Reading, they have pool sessions on Mondays and Thursdays. Roger is a top bloke and I use the shop all the time but have never used the pool. I believe Gledders' husband did some training with them.I've started a new contract in Bracknell & in order to avoid staring at the B&B walls too much, I thought I'd try and find something to do in the evenings, unfortunately Wraysbury aren't open in the evenings at this time of year, so that leaves pool sessions. | GUE Instructor Site Admin | Hydrodive Nigel and I go there occasionally to practice his skills in the pool - always gives them a laugh when I turn up in a twinset (I don't own a single and got fed up breathing trimix from bottom stages). The pool is OK - not too bad for lugging kit and the meets are late enough to get there after work (8:15 ish Monday and Thursday. I'd be happy to meet with you one night there if you like.

![]() ![]() ![]() | I used to have a pint or two on a thursday night at Bracknell BSAC. They're a welcoming bunch, might be worth giving them a shout. They meet at the leisure centre in Bracknell - not sure who to contact but BSAC should be able to give you contact details. Digs. |

I think they'll let you use it a couple of times for a fiver or so but that's only a couple of times then they'll want the full membership wodge.Digs. Ian |

Yeah, you do have to be a member in order to use the pool but Digger is right, we are a welcoming bunch Ian Cheers/Nic

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Or you could join as a social member and get use of the pool on Thursdays for a lot less. Depends on how long you'll be around. The club won't be doing too much diving now until March/April. If you fancy skills + drills at Wraysbury some time, drop me a line.

I think Martin Smith tried the £20 approach and ended up having to pay £146, social membership doesn't stretch to taking dive kit into the pool apparently. If you fancy skills + drills at Wraysbury some time, drop me a line. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ah, fair enough. Maybe Hydrodive would be a better choice then, although I don't know what the costs would be for that.
