| New Member | Undersuit query Hello all i'm looking for a new undersuit. has anyone tryed one of these flectalon 300g from ND. I'm starting to become a "shandy drinker" in my older age. they look quite nice units with mesh flex panels under the arms. already have some Fourth Ele's base layers to top it up when it gets totally cold. its just one of the options on the list of many. thanks craig

| Moderator | I think Martin Burnard dives one of these. However, if you are coming along next weekend, I am sure there will be loads to see there!! The best one that seems to be going around at the moment is the Santi 400 and I know there will be a couple at Stoney for you to look at. Regards

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah.. I would be curious to know too, has anyone ever flooded that ND stuff? How does it stand up? A while back before I moved to 400g type-B, I had a ND undersuit. It was the 100g or 200g version but since there's no indication that the material is made from different stuff for each weight I presume that the only difference is how much of it there is. Anyway. When the drysuit leaked I got very wet (and if the water was cold, got cold). Water moved through the undersuit very easily and it could be wrung out rather like a cotton T-shirt if badly flooded or after washing it. Type-B thinsulate is much harder for water to move through and to squeeze water in/out. David It's just occurred to me that my undersuit pre-dated the "Flectalon" stuff. However from a rather subjective/non-user viewpoint I think that the fabric seemed rather like the older stuff (albeit shineier and with bigger labels). I belive that the addition was of metallic strips to reflect readiated heat - which wouldn't have any affect on flooding. Last edited by David Martin; November 14th, 2006 at 02:25 PM. |
