Hi All,

As many of you are all no doubt aware The BSAC have monitored and reported on Diving Incidents since 1964 in the interest of promoting diving safety.. The reports for 1997 - 2005 can be viewed at NDC Diving Incidents Report. The reports contain details of UK diving incidents occurring to divers of all affiliations, plus incidents occurring world-wide involving BSAC members.

The Incident reporting year runs from the 1st October in one year to the 30th September the following year to coincide with the UK diving season and allow for compilation of the report for presentation at the Diving Officers Conference in December each year.

Since the 30th September is almost upon us then I would like to take this opportunity to encourage all divers regardless of affiliation to report any incident they may have been involved in to submit a report to BSAC HQ, before Friday 13th October please, to allow inclusion in this years report. Reports submitted after this date will be incorporated into the ongoing analysis of data but cannot appear in the published report.

As always, the anonymity of those involved in an incident is assured - great care is taken to preserve the confidentiality of any personal information recorded in BSAC Incident Reports.

Kind Regards,
Jim Watson
BSAC Safety & Development manager
