| New Member | Hello all....... Well I am doing the FDundies in December in chilly Portland, and as I had long been trying to get a proper minimalist kit set up, and I liked the DIR style, I went and did some research (asked some guys on the internet) and then went and spent money like a drunken sailor on shore leave. Anyhoo.....I have my cherry breaking orientation into the world of twinset diving, and on this link are pics of the sexy new rig, fornt and rear. (there are also some pics of goodies I have found whilst diving). I just put it together a la the fundies book, and a link I found on this site, but I am sure Rich W. will sort it out nicely come December 9th!! http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/ga...es-I-have-made

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | some general pointers for you, but remember these are all based on your photo's which may be open to interpretation, and that my advce is worth exactly what you paid for it! the boltsnap on the long hose appears to be attached using a rubber band, replace it with line. It also looks quite big, fit the smallest you can find, Phill does a good selection at reasonable prices. the wing should be under the hoses at the top, so the HP hose comes straight down in front of the wing, not over the wing part way down. Also the line on the boltsnap looks a bit long, & finally it should be clipped to the waist strap D-ring. the shoulder D-rings should be in line with your collar bones, at first sight they look a bit low, although that could just be the picture. cut off the toggle on the wing auto-dump, you will probably want to replace the string with some thicker stuff to make it easier to handle with gloves on: http://dir-diver.com/en/equipment/dumpvalve_mod.prn finally the inflator lp hose on the should be under the inner tube on the corragted hose & then held in place under the bungie on the shoulder D-ring. other than that, it all looks fine! :-) cheers, Paul |

| New Member | cheers for the tips.....although I haven't done the fundies yet, the pic is mainly set up to show off the gadgetry.....none of the damned stuff would stay where I wanted it to so I organised it in such a way so that it all could be seen. There is still some tweaking to be done, but I am going to leave that till the December course and do the fine tuning there. I think the chest d rings are ok - I think they look low because of the angle of the photo. The rubber bands were used just to stop my size 11's from crushing the long hose reg and stopping dangling whilst I store the gear. I am diving in it on Thursday and will be having a basic twins orientation, and I will be having a minor tweaking session then. I do want to secure the main reg and spg properly though. What can I replace the rubber bands with? (I picked the bigger of the 2 available boltsnaps because my big cold sausage fingers would struggle with the smaller ones)
