A few of you know, but I thought I'd tell the rest of you so you can REALLY hate me!

3 weeks today I will be finishing my last day at work for approximately 8 weeks.

I've got a sabbatical, it's actually happening - and I'm going diving! I'm off to Egypt spending the first bit at the Deep South Centre http://www.deep-south-diving.com/ and the second bit on MV Tala http://www.redseaexplorers.com/ Well you've got to live the dream aye?

Deep South offers (offered I guess) GUE courses from time to time run by AG, and MV Tala is the liveaboard that AG is a co-founder of. Whilst Tala won't be able to offer GUE courses now, it's still got all the gear and the people on the boat are all GUE trained. So I'm guessing Deep South and Tala are the Red Sea's DIR-friendliest places!

Deep South is 15km south of Marsa Alam and has some great diving nearby (saw an illusive Dugong last time I was there). And the accomodation is basic and relaxed (one of those eco-villages).

The plan is to hook up with Dave (Tired Dave, TDave) Smith and where I'll do my DM (yeah I know) and then guide at Deep South and then on to Tala (hopefully picking up some great experience and getting myself set for a great years diving).

Cool huh?

So if anyone fancies a trip to t'egypt between the 16th Dec and the 10th Feb then pop down and say hello!

Now if you were really bought into this DIR lark you'd sort out some places for the rest of your team :D
