![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | getting in shape IMHO , all you need to know to become fit and powerfull you can learn at RossTraining - Bridging The Gap Between Ordinary and Extraordinary Ross also have 2 books, pretty cheap, which will help very much get in shape, and wehn I mean "shape" I mean something way beyound most fit ppl name shape. RossTraining - Products They are the best practical books I ever had on fitness (scientifc books notwhistanding ), and Ive read dozens. His books also includes some smaple programs and some knowledge which will help you improvise / modify them to suit your needs, and much more. Very good value, and accessible to everybody. Scientifc books like titles written by Siff , Verkoshansky, Zatsiorsky, Beachle & Earle are extremly usefull , but completly useless for the average fitness enthusiast due to the complexity of the text. Ross managed somehow to distill the scientifc percepts in his books very well, making them accessible to alsmot anyone. Also the model of periodization (the term periodization is used here very loosely ) he uses is down to earth, I never understood why some ppl which wrote fitness books for the general public used liniar periodization models at most suited for some very specific, season or peak event based sports. This (periodization) is also the main reason why Im not a big fan of the program designed by C. Martz , despite the high regard and respect in which I hold him. Enjoy |
