Sardinia

Hi ..Not really a trip report...Just a heads up about Diving in Sardinia ,From Which I have returned ..Based at Cala Gonnone on the East coast and Did a some diving with [url=http://www.protecsardinia.com] ..But it was a family holiday with a little diving .

First off its Not the full blown ,Mexico/Florida GUE experience ..However If you want a break with your Wife/Family Etc and want to fit in some OW and Cave diving its ideal keeps everyone sweet .Easy to get to from europe and Sardinia is a great place

Toddy and Patrick run Protec and are NACD instructors and know their stuff and are genuinely nice guys

Most of the cave diving is from a RIB and you enter the caves at the of Sheer limestone cliffs from the sea ..Which can be interesting tying in .

Caves are really nice lots of Haloclines/ nice formations and are suitable for both C1 and C2 .

So if you fancy a change off the beaten track in the cave world its well worth a visit

Note......I will never again use a Halcyon SS inflator .....I had trouble with it Self inflating a couple of years ago ...

So When I am about 600m back in Grotta Del Fico after a couple of Jumps down a Twisty quite tight passageway ,which has a bed of super fine silt ..I did not expect my inflator button to shoot off ,never to be seen again ...So a PITA exit flying my suit in a couple of difficult passageways .On inspection of the inflator ,there was not a thread left inside it ,torn out with the button ..Never again will I use SS inflators ..

Anyway apart from that It was a great couple of weeks and I kept the wife sweet to boot ...which is good for me
