| GUE Instructor Site Admin | OK - so some of you must have been diving this weekend... Take a moment to tell us about it - where did you go, what did you do? Was it good, bad or indifferent... What made you laugh... What did you learn... We learn from others' experiences, and set our aims and expectations by them too. It doesn't matter if it wasn't a multi stage scooter dive on the Repulse or the Prince of Wales - it could be a skills session with mates or a reef dive - after all - DIR is a system for every dive we do. Please post your trip reports to the board in this section, or course reports in the other sections, and make your contribution to the community. Particularly good reports will be moved (after a while) to the Library - especially when they have photos. :D

| New Member | I was diving in a small quarry approx. 100km NE from Helsinki (Finland). Air temp was -2C and water was +5C. Viz was about 2-3 meters, which is not that good for this particular quarry. Tested my new Salvo 9A/24W HID and man that was great. I've used to dive with DR 10W HID and I'm glad I made the change. There was another diver (a solo one) which had a halogen light and when I first saw it underwater I was thingking that someone is using a backup light. ![]() Max depth was 21 meters (thats the deepest you can go there). Average was 13,7 meters. We saw ONE fish, a rubber boot and a leg of mannequin. This was nice and relaxing dive and I was up for a second one, but my buddy was bored just cruising around. So we decided to call the day and headed back to Helsinki. Now I'm waiting for the coming weekend to get in the water again. -- Aki |
