Is there anybody who has experiences with the UTD courses in general?

Yep, AG is behind UTD.

So at least one instructor is above average

As I understand it UTD is an evolution of the 5thDx. 5thDx was the workshops or 'mini's' supported by the DVD training materials and the certified training was through NAUI Tech. Now UTD is offering certification but I also believe that UTD accreditation is available to other agency courses.

AFAIK UTD is the Hogarthian/DIR, unified team approach to OC diver education without the confines of a single agency.

I believe that it is still primarily Andrew Georgitsis and Joe Talavera behind the organisation and anyone who has ever trained with them will testify to the very high standards that they instil and expect. I did the Ratio Deco class and it was excellent. Some 7.5 hours of AG talking about deco theory to a room full of Tech Divers and he never took a penny for it.
