Possible DIR-F Course available

Hi all,

Is there anyone who may be interested in taking the fundies course I am booked on at Capernwray 5-8 Oct.

My company are playing silly buggers over me taking the holiday, and I am committed to the course.

I am hopeful to be able to resolve this without a "carpark discussion with management"

However, just need a contingency plan

Any chance you could be up for DIR-F in Plymouth. We've got one definate and one possible for th 16th - 19th Sep. Without 1 more it looks like the course might not be able to run. Can promise favourable gas and boat rates, plus have a spare fouton if you need to keep it cheap.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the offer, but I am committed and hopefull that I will be able to make this course, but as it won't be able to run without 3 (the same situation) I was hoping to see if anyone was available on standby so to speak.

The response I have had from my employer is that they are looking into re-scheduling.

Either I am so important to the company that they cannot afford to be without me (in which case I want a very large pay rise) or they are just being difficult due to thier incompetence

Anyone know about UK employment laws by the way?

Employment law probably won't be a lot of help as it is usually your contract that will control the fine details of when and how you can take your holiday.

If it was approved and they are now trying to change it then I would be inclined to point out the costs that will be incurred and for which you would consider them liable.

If you didn't actually get the holiday approved yet then you may be stuck, but check the wording in your contract just in case.

For the record Clare, it is only Steven who said "bloke"

I only just realized you'd be there after picking up e-mails this evening and talking to Dave!

Anyway, will you be carrying the twins down to the water for us or do we have to do that ourselve's?

Yes, Stephen is a bit odd, if only by virtue of being called Stephen If you live in the NE and are diving GUE you simply must be called Dave - that's not difficult to understand is it?

if you are a old crooner and are diving GUE in the north east you must be called Dave, other names are acceptable for the younger ones
