| Eager beaver! | Hi guys, Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year! I asked Santa Claus for my TLS, but it never came! *cry* oh well I start my job again in june so lets see ... Anyways, during my re-eval at the DIRx gig, I had a catastrophic failure of fabulousness when my Goodman's Handle disintigrated! I managed to lose the screws as well, so I was hoping, does anyone know what size screw is required for the (Salvo) Goodman Handle! On another note I managed to get the foam cut out in my peli-case for the 21W HID light and it looks pretty damn fabulous! The battery is stored in the cannister and that has its own slot. The slot for the head was the worst to cut out, ut gt that sorted. Took out a large square chunk to accomodate the light cord to spiral. Finally, slots were cut for the charger and the charger PSU. Overall looks good. On another note, how have people got their battery packs to america? I'm going to Florida and I'm going to be doing some cave diving while I'm out there, however, I'm a bit cautious about the battery, because with its opaque black shrink wrap coating - it does look quite bomb-like. Although I lack many of the traditional terrorist features, I would rather avoid the back-cavity search that the americans would be itching to give me if they see me with that pack but no clue how to explain it! Any advise? Regards, Chris

Batteries; have a search on here, there is loads advice including links to AirSpeed battery stickers. Regards

| Firmly back in the saddle | Going out to Florida to see Jim Wyatt for a cave course by any chance? As Gloc said there are loads of links on here for printing stickers off to put on the battery pack explaining that they are non hazardous, although I would still leave it out of your hand luggage even so. Antti had some stickers before for his battery when we did tech1 but I think you flamed him down so he maybe a little hesitant to send them to you. I'll send him a message as I need them as well, I'm sure he'll know where if he hasn't still got the template.

![]() | Last time I traveled my wife and I carried on our batteries and canisters. They seemed very interested, but there were no problems. However I did get searched for my wife making me put over 2 lbs of M&Ms in my other carry on for her wedding favors!!!!! Jason |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Things may have changed in light of the recent attempted attack, but I've never had any problems getting in and out of FL with a light. (Salvo 21w 9AhNiMH) I've always checked all my dive kit into the hold (suitably protected with towels etc). That way you avoid the 'potential weapon' issues. Steve |

| Eager beaver! | Cheers for all the advice peeps!! I'll have a nosey! Going out to Florida to see Jim Wyatt for a cave course by any chance? Abso-freaking-lutely!!!! my parents are paying for it, as my 21st present, so I might as well do something I really wanna do. I'd prefer to be in a cave than on a wreck. Wrecks don't have the appeal to me. I'm going to Florida on holiday to stay at the family villa, I've worked my arse off at uni for the last 4 years so its a nice present to me and the wife. Where you off to to need stickers for your battery? Chris

| Firmly back in the saddle | I'm saying nuffin. Watch this space though. I get that wreck diving might not appeal. Have you thought about giving it more than one sea dive to test the waters as it were. I bet with a good group of guys around you'd feel a lot more relaxed than before and have a hell of a lot more fun. If you want to come out and do some sea diving we won't take the piss if you still don't like it. And well if you do then great. Now about this family villa in florida. ![]()

| Have gear will travel. | A few friends have told me that it should not be an issue. I would carry it as hand luggage in the event some "noob" TSA employee opens up my bag and forgets to put it all back in. Either way, carry your manufacturers catalog, user manual and show the m a copy of your C-card to prove that you are actually a diver. here is your sticker link as well http://www.airspeedpress.com/BatteryLabelDrycell.jpg I am actually going take a picture of my battery and send it to TSA to see what they have to say. Have a great holiday. Ali

| Eager beaver! | A few friends have told me that it should not be an issue. I would carry it as hand luggage in the event some "noob" TSA employee opens up my bag and forgets to put it all back in. Now I've got conflicting advice.... about where to put it ... I'm leaning towards taking it in carry on because as you said I can make sure it gets there!! Ali The only catch is I got my salvo (first problem) second hand so no manuals etc (second problem.) Cheers for the link - surely that should mean they will go OK - i suppose the worst case is I turn it on and that will prove its a battery pack! Cheers Now about this family villa in florida. Oh did I mention its local (within an hour) to some of the major systems like peacock, ginnie etc ...After you're comments you can keep dreaming!![]() ![]()
