eey_ore_9 will become famous soon enough

Eey_ore_9 BSAC,PADI,TDI,GUE. 150+ DIVES

Numerous out of air drills re fundies, at the begining not so sweet but now got the tools to effectively deploy without issue so far!

pre hog loop:- whilst diving scapa flow OOA buddy emergency, diver went straight for my deco reg not the reg in my mouth nor the octo on my chest area. Either very cleverly wanting my deco gas or stressed to buggery just grabbing the first thing seen? No issue on ascent after donate

I disagree a little - there is no one "BSAC way" - for example my usual deep diving rig is all stages left, an OPH, and a rebreather. However I also dive a single tank rig with a very different configuration. I suspect the reason many people are annoyed is because they see this as a slippery slope to a BSAC way. But I digress, I'm taking the thread off track.

In a vain attempt to appease Clare for not keeping to the subject of the thread :D Outside of lessons, I've been involved in three OOG incidents. One of those I was hog-looped (ish) and the hose was deployed with no problems.

Mark Chase

PADI GUE IANTD TDI

1500-2000 dives ish

First "Hog looped" in 2001

1 X Actual use in red sea inside Thistlegorm when buddy (wife) got to 40 bar with a long way to go to the shot.

No drama

Dozens of practice drills

1 X minor incident practicing for fundies with Clare when i attempted a donate and it pulled my mask off because I had a mini Q40 attached to the mask strap.

Simple answer, get rid of mini Q40

But i liked the head mount Q40 so i ditched the hog loop in favor of a stuffed hose and put the Q40 back on.

The morel of this tail is if your going to go GUE/hogarthian? you need to go all the way and not just cherry pick

Lynne Flaherty, GUE-F, NAUI Helitrox, GUE C1, UTD T1, NACD Full Cave.

Approx 850 dives, all but 40 hog rigged. Countless donations in drills and "surprise" drills with buddies. One issue with improperly rigged hose (twisted around backup) which would have shown itself had I done a mod S before diving.

Several real donations: I had a freeflow in a single tank and buddy donated and we ascended, no issues. I had a new buddy come to me low on gas when we had a bit of a swim to get back to the boat; I donated and we swam in. No issues. My husband developed a reg leak a long way from shore. I donated, no issues.

MartyC has a spectacular aura aboutMartyC has a spectacular aura about

Only done this once in anger, diving the F2 in Scapa, buddy was doing an adv rec course and lining in, he kicked up so much sh#t that we couldn't see each other, he flashed an out of gas signal with his light and I donated without thinking, it was automatic and stress free, shame he'd only got tangled in the line (git) made all the practice worth while though!

Ran out of air myself today (10 bar left). It was embarrassing, but luckily happened while we were doing a 6m safety stop.

Shared air with hog-rigged buddy with no problems.
