Just wondering how you do a repair on one with a reusable hose fitting when you damage the hose...

Any suggestions (or just PM me)? preferably in Britain (good because of strong Euro) or at least another EU country (otherwise I'll be charged huge amounts of taxes).
You could try direct from Miflex themselves: Diving Products - Miflex Xtreme & MARA

I've been using them for months, gradually swapping all my kit over to them. I'm a big fan, mainly becuase they cope with the DS4 routing much better than normal hoses.

I am abnormal?

I have DS4s on my twins, the hoses have been in use for 3 years (approx 200 dives), no damage or bulging. Is that unusual?

Somehow I have a mix of scubapro and halcyon hoses.

I very rarely break my kit down, so the hoses aren't being bent, then straightened, then bent etc. Could this be why the hoses have lasted?

Happy diving

Martin

Hoses vary greatly in quality. I'm guessing that in Europe many DIR divers get their hoses through a shop that buy from either DIR Zone or Beyond the Shore (BtS), both German based distributors. The standard black rubber hose that DIR Zone provides is of good quality. The other one is not very impressive.
DIR Zone has also been promoting the MiFlex hoses for about 2 years or so. BtS just started offering them as an alternative to their not so impressive standard hoses.

Personally I don't see any real need for the new type hose. Judging by the low number of custommers who come to us to buy a new hose to replace a damaged/worn out standard hose it seams like having good quality hoses does the trick. But if the industry and divers in general think the MiFlex hoses are the way to go in the future I probably won't loose any sleep over that either.

My hoses are halcyon ones (except dry suit inflator).
Probably the tanks have somehting to do with te routing too. I just can't get my hoses routed in a "comfortable" looking way, without a strong bend in them. tilting the 1st stages does not seem to make much difference. That's why I want to start changing over to miflex. First the most kinked hoses, and if I like the miflex, I might change over completely.
Oh, and the colour is fun too ;-). Pity there's no pink...
