Regs again ...

First question to get me going on the DIR path.

Currently got Cyklons on my twins which I know are not DIR so off they go to ebay but I've also got a single rig which comprises of a scubapro Mk16 first stage with a S550 second which has never let me down.

The million dollar question i do I buy another MK16 with S550 second stage on a long hose or ditch the lot and buy two sets of DS4's with ATX40's.

Anbody out there use MK16's although I know they have just changed to MK17's.

Cheers

Simon

Firstly, I don't know much about the SP diaphragm designs. Though you don;t see them that often on DIR rigs compared to the pistons.

However, for the price of one MK17 you can (probably...) get 2 DS4s if you shop around. The S550 is fine, so you could either get a (A)TX50 as a backup (better suited than a '40 as you can slow them down easier), or one of the non air balanced Scubapros (R190, 290 or 390). Nothing wrong with mixing and matching between makes as long as they're compatable (which SP and Apeks are)

HTH
Joe
