| Chimp 2 | DS4 wierdness Whats this about. On a DS4, the clear rubber diaghram is under pressure, pushing out, which seems wierd as the diagrham is obviously exposed to being punctured. When you switch the gas on, you can feel the pressure increase under it. IBut my other DS4 doesn't do this. One of the DS4s has been in the water, and one of them has not...advice please... ![]()

| Doing It Caverkevin | Advice.....don't worry. When you are underwater that rubber bit will be squished into the cap tight. It is a sealed air chamber. One of the two regs just has a little more air in the chamber. It goes out when you turn the reg on because the diapharm under the plastic bit has expanded. About the only thing that could go wrong with this is if the diapharm developed a leak. Then it would blow out the rubber bit you are talking about. You would have bubbles coming out and water inside the cap. Cheers!! Kevin |

| Padawan learner | I guess if you wanted to you could unscrew the enviroment sealing cap a bit, squish the air out and then do it up again. I wouldn't really bother though.

| Chimp 4 | Garf, Mine are the same - one bloated and one not.. and despite having one 1st stage with a green wheel and one with a black one - I still dive them.. Something in my head tells me that I may have read (distant enough for you?) that when the pressure seal is bloated like that - it indicates an imminent service.. can't tell you why and is probably a half truth.. so please ignore me and there is nothing to see here. move along.

Attatch the DS4 to a cylinder, remove the outer ring (only if you have the correct tool). Turn on the gas. Retighten the ring and remove the 1st stage from the cylinder.Back to where it should be. For peace of mind I would check the intermediate pressure.
