![]() ![]() ![]() | Why a “continuous length of webbing?” Why a “continuous length of webbing?” I can see the advantage to reducing the potential failure points, but that must be weighed against the need to quickly and easily remove the rig. My experiences with “airplane” buckles ()Item WB20) and fast-clips (Intem SA79) indicate to me that (even in the highest quality incarnation) they are inadequate to the task. However, my experience with doubled stainless steel twist-locks (similar to what was once used on a wetsuit jacket beavertail) suggests that perhaps they might be a reasonable solution at the left shoulder. Similarly, the “airplane” style buckle, even of the highest quality, is not a positive closure device. I favor the SeaQuest buckle (Item WB34) for closures that must be adjustable and a wire buckle (Item WB40)for those that stay fixed. ![]() ![]()

How have they failed you? What were you doing (to them) when they failed? |

For the airplane style buckles the most common have failure mode is popping open at an inopportune moment followed by the tongue piece falling out as the small metal tabs fatigue over time. Fast-clips give up if stressed sufficiently and can be rather readily damaged by having tanks set down upon them.

A knife in an emergency (waistband, reachable with both hands) otherwise just take it off like a coat. Seems quite straight forward to me, what is the problem that needs fixing again? |

| Moderator | There is a continued argument about clips. I have not had any problems with my one piece harness getting in and out of it, both in the water and out of it. From the pictures that you have shown I use a clip like the WB21 on the belt.
