Rules

Heard much about 'the rules'..
'Rule 2 says..' 'you can't do that because it breaks rule 4' - made up, but you get what I am saying..

so. What are they?

Or do we only find out once trained - kind of like being padowan learners and Jedi powers..

1 - Don't dive with Unsafe Divers
2 - Don't listen to unsafe divers
3 - Nothing underwater is worth dying for
4 - ALWAYS analyse your gas (before every dive)
5 - Don't dive a rebreather unless you need it
6 - Always look cool

J

I never manage number 6, mainly due to the fact (to quote Woz) i look like a sack of yoghurt in a drysuit.

Rule 6 is the most important of all....

But methinks for a reason....

... if you do a skill, let's say DSMB deployment, do you want it to look scrappy, as if happening by accident, line floating about, buoyancy up and down, sending the bag up full and out of control....

Or should it look slick - thought out, tidy and under control.

I know which method is Doing it Right... and the fact that it looks is a bonus.

Practice practice (....Al? )

The cheek - the only scrappy part was trying to unclip the bloody thing from the metal d-ring in my new pockets. Bungee will be fitted this weekend!
